There were about 240 people from 20 countries (5 continents) at the MIT
workshop on STAMP last week. The largest group of attendees were from
aviation although energy, automotive (the second largest group),
healthcare, petrochemicals, rail, nuclear, and other industries were
represented. The presentations are posted at
http://psas.scripts.mit.edu/home/2014-stamp-workshop-presentations/

There was a track on security at the meeting although it was not
video-taped and only one presentation is on the web on the topic. We
discovered that STAMP and STPA also applies to cyber security but have not
talked publicly about it until last December. My practice is not to talk
about new ideas until they have been validated on real systems in an
industry setting and found to work better than current tools. It now has
been and does. It is in the process of being adopted by the U.S. CYBERCOM
and is starting to be used on other industry projects. A disssertation will
come out in August but there are a couple of preliminary papers on the
STAMP website (http://psas.scripts.mit.edu/home/)

A Chinese language version of* Engineering a Safer World* published by the
Beijing Defense Industry Press will be out in June. A Japanese version is
in the works.

Finally, the second European STAMP/STPA workshop will be held in Germany
(Univ. of Stuttgart) in September:
