The comparison is a bit too simplistic...
Very briefly put, IEC 61508 covers functional safety, hardware and
software.ED-80 (or DO-254) covers hardware. You'd have to add ED-12/DO-178
and software, and ED-135/ARP-4761 and ED-79/ARP-4754 for system and safety
aspects.
