I'm a board director, attempting at least to **understand** what's 
involve in assurance of safety. Recently I was asked to sign a document 
committing my company to acceptance of risks that I could neither 
mitigate nor cover via insure. When I pushed back, I was told by the 
document's originating party that "everyone else has signed".
