All,
Some evidence that there are significant savings to be had by
restructuring code to reduce the number of tests required
to achieve 100% MC/DC:

and yes, the smaller number of tests (over 50% fewer)
detect fewer faults in the code.
Who wouldn't want to save money and reduce schedule pressure,
and still meet 100% MC/DC safety requirements.  An opportunity
for a tool vendor here.
Me thinks an updated definition of MC/DC is required.
