THE SAFETY-CRITICAL SYSTEMS CLUB tutorial:
The Ethics of Acceptable Safety
1st October 2015, London
Engineers of safety-critical systems have a duty to address ethical issues that may arise in the development, assessment, operation and maintenance of these systems. This tutorial addresses the dilemmas and duties of engineers when dealing with ethical concerns surrounding safety risk management decisions.

Using interactive case studies throughout, the tutorial will guide attendees through the challenges of identifying, assessing, and responding to, the ethical issues they may face.

This tutorial is presented jointly by speakers from the High Integrity Systems Engineering Group at the University of York and the Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied Centre at the University of Leeds, including Tim Kelly and Chris Megone.
