I had a quick squiz, the front matter looks remarkably like the US DoDs
JSSG handbook on software safety.

Bertrand,

Publically available NATO documents, including a couple of Allied Ordnance
Publications (AOPs) are available for free from the NATO Standardization
Office (current list at http://nso.nato.int/nso/nsdd/listpromulg.html).

AOP-52 is unclassified, but not approved for public release. If you have a
legitimate need for it, such as working on a government contract which
cites it, and you need a copy of the current official version (rather than
a draft), then you should approach the contract sponsor or the military
standardization organisation in your country.

Many public NATO and US military standards can be downloaded from US
Department of Defense’s ASSIST website, mentioned by Haim, which can now be
found at http://quicksearch.dla.mil/ . It gives current revision and
sponsorship details for most US and NATO military standards, including the
AOPs and other documents with controlled distribution. The site also has
contact details for a (US) helpdesk that may be able to help with access to
non-public documents.

In the UK, NATO standards can be obtained from UK Defence Standardization (
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/uk-defence-standardization ). Once registered,
their public website allows free download of unclassified UK Defence
Standards. Unfortunately it doesn’t list the NATO documents, so you would
have to contact their helpdesk for access.

I guess in France you may need to approach the DGA Centre de Normalisation
de Défense.

Regards,

                James Inge
