It's not impossible (though culpably stupid) that someone would leave a
radiant heater plugged in somewhere that could cause a fire if it was left
on for a while

[CAH] Let me introduce you to an entity called the "General population"...

 

The people on this discussion group by its very nature are above average
intelligence. Half the population are below average intelligence and give
the number of very clever people in this forum there must be (at least) an
equal number of  very stupid people who will do incredibly stupid things.
There are even awards for them...
