Interesting, the working group papers can be found here:

http://iment.com/maida/computer/requirements/tinman.htm

and starting here
https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Strawman_language_requirements

They are named Strawman, Woodenman, Tinman, Ironman and Steelman.

I used the tinman link above because the embedded links in that series
have a typo in the tinman link.

You might find this helpful <
http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/1646867/?reload=true> and <
http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=807703> and
<https://www.dwheeler.com/steelman/index.html>

Again, historical documents not readily available can be procured (usually
for a nominal charge) through a Freedom of Information Act request see the
notes here <http://www.dod.mil/pubs/foi/>. Foreign nationals as well as
governments are free to use the FOIA. There are even private companies
that will do this for you for a fee <http://foia.com/foia.aspx>.

All,

The 1976 report (the starting point for what ended up as Ada)
"A Common Programming Language for the Department of Defense--Background
and Technical Requirements"
does not appear to be available in pdf anywhere.

The obvious source does not link to anything:
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__oai.dtic.mil_oai_oai-3Fverb-3DgetRecord-26metadataPrefix-3Dhtml-26identifier-3DADA028297&d=DwICAg&c=zVFQZQ67ypsA9mYKSCqWmQHiVkCCaN-Gb60_N6TVnLk&r=POd89SHLQjzdpTmN5D2CO5JsMuD1WYxEirHhAmRku7s&m=c1PnzFTxSvVGyG_WdlHQ5PRuwfSjOgahhdkvMuX_yGU&s=O9YNScL1uoiqsnsTVf9s1mGjVBNFaNZGSP45uq1wHfo&e=

Does anybody know where a copy of the pdf can be found (Google
does not have one)?
