From a notification just sent out by the IEC, the electrotechnology standards organisation.

[begin quote]
we are pleased to announce that a conference on building trust in artificial intelligence (AI) will
be held in Geneva, Switzerland on 16 and 17 May 2022. .... this conference will feature keynote
speakers and interactive discussion on use cases. It will offer an opportunity for key stakeholders,
AI enthusiasts and the interested public to engage in a dialogue and to contribute to how the
interplay between legislation, standardization and conformity assessment can build trust in AI.
[end quote]

What if AI, as it now is, is untrustworthy? Then "the interplay between legislation, standardization
and conformity assessment" will be chasing a chimera, won't it?
