[SystemSafety] Flight London to Germany goes to Scotland...

Apparently the flight was being operated by an outsource operator on behalf of BA and the incorrect flight plan was a copy of the one that had been used correctly the day before – so presumably it didn’t look odd to them (according to BBC news reports).

A lack of communication somewhere, but we shouldn’t jump to assuming it was the pilots.

The BBC story has the flight crew following the submitted flight plan.

The question this rises to me is why a flight crew didn’t recognise that they while they may have been scheduled for a flight to Dusseldorf, they were going somewhere else. A worrying lack of critical thinking.

Hi All

Here is and interesting one to ponder. Although the aircraft ended up in the wrong place it does appear to have done so safely.
I wondering how this happened as surely the aircrew must have realised they were flying north rather than south east.
