[SystemSafety] Turning point of a logistic equation

All,

I have been asked about detecting when data fitted by a
logistic equation has reached its 'turning point', i.e.,
when its exponential-like phase is complete.

Does anybody know of any maths that bounds the situation?

How long do we have to wait for saying the data really has started
to flatten out?
